Well, this year my brothers and I are going as Batman villains, as my youngest borther looks JUST (and I mean just) like the Heath Ledger Joker, albeit much younger.
One of my favorite Halloween costumes my family has ever done is the Scooby-doo gang many years ago.
I guess my favorite costumes are homemade ones. If you choose the right costume, it almost always looks better homemade then not!
