The Son Of Neptune by Rick Riorden

The Son of Neptune (Heroes of Olympus, #2)

In The Lost Hero, three demigods named Jason, Piper, and Leo made their first visit to Camp Half-Blood, where they inherited a quest:

Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

Who are the other four mentioned in the prophecy? The answer may lie in another camp miles away, where a new camper has shown up and appears to be the son of Neptune, god of the sea...

This book was perfect.  Perfectly perfect.  Perfectly perfect perfection.

I didn't know how much I missed Percy until I read this!  The first in the HOO series was good and all, but not as good as this one!  It had old characters we miss (Percy, Tyson, Nico, Mrs. O'Leary) and new characters that I love (Hazel, Reyna, Frank)  and was amazing.

In this book, Percy doesn't know anything.  Just his name, and one other - Annabeth.  When he winds up in Camp Jupiter, he doesn't exactly belong...His fighting style is weird, and he refers to the gods in their Greek form.  But pretty soon he's on a quest with two new friends to safe...Death?

With fun twists and turns in the plot, connecting new characters as far back as to the PJO series, this book is  non stop excitement.  One of  my favorite things about this series, and its predecessor, PJO, is the witty, funny narratives.

Also, I just have to say it, I almost immediately knew who Hazel's godly parent was.

I give this book a 5/5 (can I give it a 10/5?) and would recommend it to everyone under the sun.

Market: YA
Language: Extremely extremely mild
Violence: Moderate, but no gore
Sensuality: Mild
